a digital platform for the strawberry growing industry in yangcunqiao town, jiande city has proved to be efficient during the current strawberry season, local media reported.
the led screen displayed in front of a greenhouse in the town offers real-time data about the growing area and yield of jiande strawberries across the country, the number of strawberry growers, and their sales.
"more than 2,000 strawberry farmers across the country have been connected to our platform, and the technology support offered by alibaba has made our data more reliable," said qian jing, director of the local rural work office.
the platform is also connected to sensors in greenhouses and can monitor temperature and humidity in real time, making strawberry cultivation a more technological process. it even helped strawberries survive the cold snap a few days ago by sending low-temperature notices to famers' phones.
the integration of the agricultural economy and the internet has enabled farmers to make better decisions in regard to picking and selling strawberries, resulting in significant economic gains.
qian said that the platform will continue to improve. more robots will be used to help pick fruit and a wechat mini program that can provide customers with information related to strawberry varieties, growing conditions, and agri-tourism services will be available soon.
